Let us introduce you and your child
to Dyslexikit.
Difficulty Learning
If your child is dyslexic, or failing
in literacy for any other reason, the creators of Dyslexikit
want to help.
Home Education
Dyslexikit
is a teaching resource for children with dyslexia or a specific
learning difficulty. It can be used as part of a home education
programme or by special educational needs and learning support
teachers.
Dyslexikit
is a system of teaching and learning materials with detailed
steps for you as a parent to follow, and colourful, lively worksheets activities
and games for your child.
Dyslexikit
is a highly structured system of small steps in literacy -
each step building on the success of previous ones.
Developing Literacy
Although written with the dyslexic
child in mind, all children developing literacy skills will
benefit from the Dyslexikit content. Aimed at 5-13 year
olds, the scheme uses exercises, games and ideas to develop
reading, spelling and handwriting simultaneously.
Teaching Resource
Dyslexikit is a complete teaching resource. 35 Dyslexikits
have been carefully structured, covering hundreds of skills
and strategies, with masses of information for parents and teachers interested
in developing literacy in an informed way.
The scheme begins
with single letters and sounds, moving to blends, syllables
and suffixes, spelling rules, listening, memory work and many
other skills that underpin literacy, clearly set out in a
systematic way. The uniqueness of this scheme is the simultaneous development of reading, spelling and handwriting in a carefully structured order.
Open the pages of the books and you
are provided with detailed instructions for parent or teacher
alongside each
activity for your child. This is a unique literacy resource
for home tuition and the classroom.
National Literacy Strategy
Dyslexikit compliments the National Literacy Strategy but, as a school resource, it is designed to help tackle underachievement and improve value added in key areas.
Dyslexikit supports teachers and parents working together and the materials are perfect for Teaching Assistants working with individuals and small groups.
