No Strategy yet!

09 July 2012

The most common of the learning difficulties in schools is dyslexia. It is estimated that 1 in 10 children are dyslexic - that's 2-3 in every classroom. These facts have been recognised for some years now and yet there is still no UK Dyslexia and Literacy Strategy. This means that 1.2 million children across the UK are not receiving the literacy education they require. Structured, multi-sensory teaching is what's required. But teachers and trainee teachers need training in this specialist area as well as the provision of a relevant strategy to implement in school.
